About the Event
Calling citizens scientists young and old, any experience level, for a relaxed, outdoor spring tea and moth night in the beautiful Brownhill Creek/Wirraparinga valley.
Your hosts? The scientists from Ferox australis and Rossi from the Bee Hub. This event will launch us into the 2022 'Great Southern BioBlitz' being held across the southern hemisphere.
There'll be:
information about moths and other pollinators
training on how to use the iNaturalist citizen science app
a short talk about citizen science and native orchids by a special guest
delicious homemade food
insect displays to look at
and friendly and knowledgeable people to chat with
When the sun goes down, we'll give some short talks whilst you have something to eat and drink, put the screens up and the lights on, and then you'll have a chance to observe moths and other wildlife using the iNaturalist platform.
Be sure to let us know about any special dietary requirements.
